First, we’re talking about physical therapy. What is physical therapy? And it’s a really great time to do it because October is physical therapy month. So, for those of you who don’t know what physical therapy is or maybe you think you know what physical therapy is, we’d like to introduce you to a little bit more about what we do and how we do it.
Physical therapists are musculoskeletal experts and what that means is that we are experts in human movement and human testing. You know, the evaluation is very critical in physical therapy and that’s what leads all of our treatments. Our treatments are based on science and are based on the findings that we have. You know, we don’t have access to X-rays or MRI’s. We work with Doctors on those things but our testing is all based on what we see, feel and touch with our hands and a basis of ruling out things. We rule out tissues that may or may not be injured by the testing that we do. And, so by doing that, and doing a thorough evaluation we’re really able to nail down what it is that is causing your pain so that we can then teach you on how to control or eliminate the pain.
On our physical therapy month, this a week to challenge you on exercises – some of our favorite exercises – that we like to do to keep people healthy. A lot of core work, a lot of postural stability work. We’re going to give the exercises that can help keep you healthy and keep you out of our offices. So tune in for the next four weeks and try our exercises challenges.
